BJP Accused of Keeping the Nation in the Dark: Gaurav Gogoi Criticizes Special Parliament Session

Gaurav Gogoi

In a scathing critique of the BJP-led government, Congress leader Gaurav Gogoi raised concerns on Tuesday, asserting that they have left the country in the dark by not revealing the agenda of the upcoming special parliamentary session scheduled from September 18 to 22.

Congress Discusses Vital Issues:

Addressing a press conference, Gaurav Gogoi emphasized the importance of discussing crucial national issues, including inflation, unemployment, natural disasters in Manipur and Himachal Pradesh, during the upcoming session. He highlighted that the Congress Parliamentary Strategy Group, under the leadership of Sonia Gandhi and Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, had deliberated on these critical matters.

BJP’s Lack of Transparency:

Gaurav Gogoi pointed out, “A special parliamentary session has been called from September 18, but the BJP has failed to disclose its agenda. The BJP has left the nation in the dark. This government is not transparent and accountable to the people.” He further added, “The BJP has not clarified what the session’s agenda will be. Our stance is that Parliament should deliberate on significant national issues. The Congress party is prepared to engage in discussions and offer suggestions.”

Congress Challenges BJP’s ‘Modi Chalisa’:

Taking a dig at the BJP, Gaurav Gogoi remarked, “For the first time, we are witnessing Prime Minister Modi and his associates diverting attention from India’s problems by announcing a five-day special session in Parliament. If you look at the parliamentary bulletin, they have mentioned all five days for government business. We do not know which issues will be raised during this session.” He continued, “Today, the Congress party has decided to participate in this special session, but discussions should revolve around people’s concerns.”

Conclusion:

In the run-up to the upcoming special parliamentary session, the Congress party is determined to engage in comprehensive discussions on various challenges facing the nation, encompassing social, economic, political, and environmental issues, as articulated by Jayaram Ramesh, Central Parliamentary Affairs Minister.
