Batting left-handed, Rinku Singh started cautiously and then unleashed powerful shots against Ireland’s bowlers. At the end of the 18th over with the score at 15 runs, Rinku struck a series of boundaries and sixes in his next five deliveries – 4, 6, 6, 1, 6 runs. This flurry of runs came after Mark Adair completed his entertaining spell on the crease.
Talking about the match, Ruturaj Gaikwad and Sanju Samson played remarkable innings, guiding India to a strong total of 185 runs for the loss of 5 wickets. Gaikwad scored 58 runs off 43 balls and formed a crucial partnership of 71 runs with Sanju Samson, who played a quick innings of 40 runs off 26 deliveries.
Though it seemed that India was losing momentum towards the end of the innings, Rinku managed to pick up his pace later, and Shivam Dube remained unbeaten at 22 runs. Both of them added 42 runs in the final 12 balls, propelling India beyond the 180-run mark.
